OUR MISSION: is depicted by the “Icon of Merciful Love”.
“God so loved the world that he gave His Son only begotten, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16). It is not we who encounter the divine but it is the divine that comes towards each of us:
Lovingly surrounded by the Trinity, the human person is placed in the centre of the icon. This description tells us that we are all very important to God, we are lifted off the ground as if to prefigure the eternal life to which we are destined and at the same time wrapped up in royal fabrics (red): we are already cared for and guided on this earth, the caring care and merciful love confirm how much we are loved.
The youthful face of the human person reminds us of our mission:
Instruments of Providence for the Little Ones and the Poor
Through our specific mission, we are called
to be “instruments of Divine Providence”.
We have impressed in our minds and hearts
that we are destined to glorify God
through our educative service to the little ones and the poor.
With an attitude of mercy
we meet them wherever they are,
in order to prevent and take care of their physical and spiritual poverty.
We relieve their unhappiness
so as to make the image of the Son of God shine in each one (Constitutions n. 31)
